Manifesto in D   Leave a comment

Two roads we walk along this way.
One road is fondest,
Paved from each end with oath and need.
The other,
But no less part.
Sometimes it trips us,
Stones askance.
Sometimes its angles turn the light
From placid path
To weary, wary eye.
Our plodding weighs us,
Draws us close
To rest and calmness,
But that calm takes strength:
It is the mountain stands,
The planet soars,
The star swings planets in its wheel.
Our strength
Is effort-made.
Might on might,
Grow to be champions,
To walk the road,
To breast the mountain,
Tame the sphere,
Council with ancient lanterns,
Stand and wield
The sword-like blazing knowledge of our home.
